Hosting and datacentre Services (HdS) is revving up its business in Australia by partnering with NextGen. The provider is also looking to take on local channel partners.
The newly formed alliance will see HdS overlay its Virtual Data Centre (VDS) hosting and services model onto NextGen's physical network and datacentres.
"The relationship is about adding more value to the two companies' offerings by joining forces," HdS Market Development Director, Joe Griffiths, said.
"The two companies work well together as NextGen has the network and facilities and HdS will add the IT infrastructure and services."
HdS is a joint-venture company owned by Hitachi Data Systems and a New Zealand-based IT Management firm, DBEMCO. It currently works with Hitachi Data Systems' channel partners.
Under the new deal, the two companies will use Hitachi storage products for shared infrastructure in the datacentres and sell services through the existing channel. However, Griffiths said it would also seek to recruit additional partners with a strong customer base.
"We are a datacentre partner who is independent from any telecommunications provider," he said.
"We add particular value to customers throughout Australia due to our alliance with NextGen, which has centres in all major cities."
Griffith said HdS would like a limited number of nation-wide partners as well as some state specific ones.
In addition to margins, partners had the opportunity to brand products and services, he said.
