Motorola Defy released to Optus

The smartphone's exclusive arrangement with Telstra has ended

The Motorola Defy will be available to Optus distributorsOptus customers in March.

The vendor spruiked the Defy as a “summer-proof” Android handset claiming it was water, bump, dust and scratch resistant.

Released last November, Telstra was then the exclusive distributor of the smartphone. The telco in conjunction with Motorola organised a Defy giveaway when The Oprah Winfrey show was filming in Australia.

Optus is selling the Defy on a 24-month $49 plan for $0 upfront.

The handset uses a 3.7-inch high-resolution touchscreen and features Motorola’s Motoblur for easier management of emails, messages and social network updates.
