Sage Business Solutions’ newest product release, Version 6.0, is its first wholly Web-based product, signifying a future where all Sage partners will need to be cloud-skilled.
The vendor maintains the Web-delivery model is an advantage to partners, who can choose to offer the solution as part of a hosted services offering. Alternatively, customers looking to host the solution in-house will still require partner’s consultancy and implementation expertise.
“It’s an exciting time,” Sage managing director, Mike Lorge, said. “It’s seldom that a partner just delivers the product and takes the pay check already, and the new solution will open up additional avenues to engage with the customer.”
Although many Sage partners are already heading down the part to cloud-readiness, Lorge said the vendor is also actively involved in helping partners skill up in the new technology.
“We ran an entire dimension of our partner conference last year focusing on the cloud,” he said.
In a release, director of Sage partner, Enabling, Steve Fouche, was positive about the possibilities of the new produce release.
“The new version builds on Sage ERP Accpac’s innovative architecture to bring a new standard in ease of use and productivity and provides the framework to give users the ability to access their ERP data over the Web using most desktop and mobile platforms,” Fouche said.
“As a Sage Solution Provider and Development Partner this gives us the ability to offer both customers and prospects true freedom of choice.”
