Handheld opens Aussie subsidiary

Focus on rugged portable computers and PDAs

Swedish mobile device vendor, Handheld Group, has opened an Australian subsidiary company in Sydney.

The vendor focuses on rugged portable computers and PDAs.

Handheld APAC will provide sales, marketing and support services to business partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Sydney-based company will help Handheld Group’s bid to expand its presence across Asian markets, according to Handheld Group CEO, Jerker Hellström.

Christian Löfvendahl, who used to run a Handheld subsidiary in the US, has been appointed managing director of the Sydney operation.

Löfvendahl a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Queensland.

Handheld APAC opened its doors on February 10.
