Security vendor, McAfee, has introduced the SecurityAlliance Accredited Channel Engineer (ACE) Program in Australia.
The program is aimed at enhancing a partner’s technical skills through online exams and hands-on lab training.
Partners with ACE resources will receive preferential allocation of McAfee marketing spend to assist in lead generation programs.
Individual sales engineers who have achieved the status can also qualify to receive a one-time reward as well as reward points.
ACE is provided to sales engineers for free and builds on top of the security vendor’s current partner program, which consists of three levels – Elite, Premier and Associate.
The security vendor is also set to launch an online partner acceleration resource centre in April. It is specifically aimed at resellers that cater for the SMB market and will focus on providing them with training, marketing resources and information such as key customer pain points and analyst research. Struthers defines the SMB market as less than 250 seats.
“We see massive potential in the SMB area and it’s where we needed to make investments in resources,” he said. “There are a lot of resellers that focus heavily in that area and a key point for most organisations is about how to protect their end points.”
On top of this, McAfee has also hired a dedicated channel system engineer, Sahba Idelkahni. Prior to joining McAfee, he worked with rival security vendor, Symantec.
“We’re putting our money behind our partners with dedicated resources,” Struthers said.
