Symbol Technologies has announced that its 802.11b NetVision Phone is now an approved product in the Cisco AVVID (architecture for voice, video and integrated data) Partner Program. The phone offers wireless IP telephony that is interoperable with Cisco's CallManager. It will emulate a Cisco12SP+ desktop IP phone and support an array of features including Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol or Static IP Addressing, call waiting, call transfer, conferencing, call park, call forward, group pick-up, message waiting and twinning. NetVision will support both 40 and 128-bit wired equivalent privacy key encryption.
