Evolve Systems Distribution has become the latest player in the cloud-based service space with a strong focus on offering e-commerce and business management products.
It is a spin-off company of accounting software distributor, Software Alliance Group, and John North will head up both businesses.
The company was launched in a bid to break away from Software Alliance Group’s accounting software heritage. Evolve began scouting for vendors in September last year.
“When Software Alliance Group tried to push into e-commerce market it was always rejected because customers and resellers looked upon it as a pure accounting business,” North said.
“It never got anywhere so we thought we would be better off starting a new company with a different focus and it’s working very well because people are now coming to Evolve for anything but accounting solutions.”
Evolve have taken the existing cloud-based e-commerce and business management product portfolio from its sister company and has added a few new vendors to the line-up.
The distributor recently signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) deal with virtualisation vendor, NetLeverage, for remote application and data access solution, which is re-branded as Evolve AnyWhere. It can be carried on a USB stick.
While NetLeverage has always sold into the coporate and government space, Evolve is looking to take the AnyWhere to SMB customers.
“We’re trying to replace servers for SMB customers somehow. We want to give them a cloud-based solution to replace servers, payroll and so on,” he said.
Evolve has also become the exclusive Australian distributor for US-based online shop solutions vendor, AspDotNetStorefront.
There are currently two resellers onboard with Evolve and the distributor is gearing up for a recruitment drive in the coming months.
It is also an authorised distributor for EasyProjects.Net and TrakStar HR Review Software.
