L7 beefs up training division

WA-based L7 has invested $50,000 towards its training infrastructure to help obtain Microsoft Silver Learning Certification

System integrator, L7 Solutions has beefed up its training division after achieving Microsoft Silver Learning Certification.

It has now become one of two training providers in Western Australia servicing the corporate training space.

The certification allows L7 to offer specialist Microsoft courses, which it claims aren’t offered by other training providers.

To gain certification for this type of training, L7 invested $50,000 in training infrastructure, employed two Microsoft certified trainers, which previously worked for Excom Education, and provided customer references of training solutions focusing on either solution-offering or end-user based training.

L7 established its training practice in May 2010 after recognising significant market demand following the skills shortage crisis and lack of technical training providers in the state.

The training unit is focused on providing end-user computer training, professional development and high level technical training to the corporate market.

L7 CEO, Matt Sullivan, said it was also on track to obtaining Cisco learning certifications by the end of January. It also offers EMC training.

“It’s been a part of our strategy for the past nine months and we’re just getting all the technical certifications under our belt,” Sullivan said. “We’re expecting to double or triple the amount of training we’re doing in the next three months.”

This year, Sullivan said he plans to expand the company into the east coast market, and has his eye on Queensland.

“It’s a similar economy to WA and we’ll probably do that through other parts of our business around our integration side,” he said. “We’re really focused on a strategy to help transform the business.”
