Ingram to invest $48.5 million in new warehouse

The distributor will relocate to the new facility in late 2011

Ingram Micro has pre-committed to a $48.5 million development of a new warehouse facility in Sydney's Eastern Creek.

The new site at ING Industrial Fund's Interchange Park will cost $48.5 million to develop and measures 39,000sqm with the capability to expand 10,000sqm. The current warehouse in Matraville occupies 27,500sqm.

Construction of the new warehouse facility is expected to commence in March and should be completed by about November, but is still subject to DA approval.

The development will feature various environmental initiatives and will target a 4 Star Green Star Industrial Rating.

The existing lease at the Matraville site is due to expire in late 2011, which will coincide with the delivery of the new facility at Interchange Park.

“We’re hopeful we’ll get the DA approval in the next few months,” Ingram Micro marketing director, Grant Cleary, said. “We’re looking at relocating at the end of 2011/beginning 2012.”
