After several fruitless months searching for an accounting and enterprise management system, Sydney-based integrator Genix has signed on to become an accredited Navision Solution Centre.
After recently completing the certification process, Genix becomes the 35th partner for Navision in Australia and New Zealand, with a view to selling the Danish vendor's Axapta enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite.
Genix was formed in 1999 from the merger of local resellers IMB and TIS, and bills itself as a one-stop provider of IT services to both small and large manufacturing companies. As a reseller for DBA business software, designed for the small business sector, Genix required a new accounting and enterprise management product suitable for new and existing customers.
"It is a Windows-based, highly scalable solution and Internet-ready, covering a spectrum of business needs from financials and logistics to manufacturing and e-commerce," said Peter Colquhoun, Genix's managing director.
Colquhoun also cited Navision's channel commitment, the early stage of Navision products' life-cycles and Navision's training and certification processes as further reasons for deciding to join the vendor.
"We wanted a product with a long life-cycle ahead rather than one that had already passed its peak and was in decline."
Colquhoun expects Navision sales to comprise a significant proportion of Genix's business over the next decade.
