Manaccom switches name to Jumbo

The company changes its name to place a stronger emphasis on its online lottery business

After more than 20 years trading as Manaccom, the company will change its name to Jumbo Interactive.

Company shareholders passed a resolution at its AGM on November 15 to change the name along with the new ASX code, JIN.

Software distributor and online lottery company, Manaccom, changed its name to reflect on its online lottery business.

The Queensland-based company was acquired by Jumbo Corporation in June 2007. This put the distributor in charge of an online lotteries division.

It plans to continue its growth in the Australian market and is also pursuing overseas opportunities particularly in the US, UK and European markets.

Earlier this year, the company bought out Manaccom founder, Ian Mackay for $1 million in company funds and a further $1.5m in investor funds. Mackay founded the Manaccom business more than 20 years ago and retired in November last year.

At the time of publication, Jumbo was trading at $0.36.
