US-based online video platform provider, Brightcove, has appointed a local team as it sets up its Australian presence.
It will be headquartered in Sydney and has appointed Mark Blair as its senior director across Asia Pacific, along with Peter Graves as its regional sales director. Blair has previously worked with Adobe and Macromedia.
Graves’ resume includes positions with Different and analyst house Frost and Sullivan. The pair will report to Brightcove Asia Pacific vice-president Dennis Rose.
The vendor claims media businesses and marketing organisations throughout Australia have been adopting the Brightcove platform for the past few years to support their online video initiatives, which has helped to accelerate its growth in the country.
“With the launch of local operations and a great new team in Sydney, we are excited to roll out our latest platform innovations to help customers and partners across the country take advantage of the online video opportunity across website destinations, social networks, and connected devices,” Brightcove CEO and chairman, Jeremy Allaire, said.
In Australia, the platform provider’s partners include The Frame Group, Daemon, RocketBoots and Gruden. It counts realestate.com.au, DMG Media and AussieBum as some of its customers.
In a statement, Brightcove said it was expecting to announce additional customers and partners in Australia in the coming months.
