Acronis pumps up partner resources

The vendor has enhanced its web portal to include access to partner support and online training as well as access to demo products

Backup and recovery vendor, Acronis, has boosted its channel resources and added more staff to its team.

The vendor has enhanced its Web portal to include access to partner support and online training as well as access to demo products.

The site currently supplies Webinars, sales collateral, promotions and information on current campaigns.

“Resellers can now communicate directly with our tech support team on behalf of the customer,” Acronis A/NZ country manager, Simon Howe, said. “The portal is a real centre piece to how we're delivering our resources to the channel.”

Howe said it had managed to grow its reseller base from about 450 to 700 partners in the last six months.

The vendor has also added two more staff to its team. Chris Braithwaite has joined the vendor as its national account manager to help drive sales across A/NZ. Before joining Acronis, he worked for Netstar Logicalis.

Braithwaite replaces Lachlan Everitt, who has now moved on to Adobe.

Danielle Thomason has also been hired as its internal sales representative, which is a newly created role.

Howe said the two new appointments would be responsible for driving end user opportunities, which are then fulfilled through the channel.

“We’re 100 per cent channel focused and we’ve got a very active partner base,” he said. “We qualify the leads first, sort them out and pass them on to our partners.

“We’re expecting to add more headcount to the sales base.”
