Global Switch picks up $3m NBN Co datacentre deal

The company responsible for the National Broadband Network (NBN) is now on the hunt for a secondary datacentre supplier

NBN Co has picked datacentre provider, Global Switch, to host its primary datacentre.

NBN Co is responsible for the National Broadband Network (NBN).

The facility, located in Ultimo, Sydney, will meet NBN Co’s long-term needs, according to NBN Co head of services, Kevin Brown.

The contract, so far, is worth $3 million.

Hardware and software systems, including some key software applications essential for the operation of the company’s networks, will be housed inside the datacentre.

NBN Co is looking for a second datacentre supplier.

Global Switch has datacentres around the world including ones in Singapore, Madrid and Paris.
