Global services company Electronic Data Systems and PWC Consulting, the management consulting unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers, have formed an alliance that they said will lead the way in the growing market for SAP services.
The alliance, announced today, is designed to strengthen the two companies' relationships with SAP and with their global clients, as well as generate future sales, according to Sandy Steele, spokeswoman for EDS. The goal, Steele said, is to offer a single source for enterprise-level, end-to-end SAP enterprise resource management services.
"We are excited to combine forces with EDS in broadening and deepening the relationships each organisation shares with its global clients," said Scott Hartz, CEO of PWC Consulting. "There is huge potential for both PWC Consulting and EDS to fundamentally reshape and enhance our ... propositions to clients through this new relationship. EDS's core services offerings are a natural extension of, and complement to, those of PWC Consulting."
The companies said they can bring more than 10,000 SAP-trained professionals to organisations seeking to leverage SAP consulting, implementation, systems integration, outsourcing and production support services.
The alliance between EDS and PWC Consulting addresses an emerging outsourcing trend in enterprise applications, enabling firms to focus on core competencies that strengthen their respective competitive positions, according to the companies.
The companies said they initially plan to focus on US enterprises and later include global companies.
