Symantec vice-president and managing director, Craig Scroggie, has been appointed as a non-executive director of datacentre provider, NextDC.
“The Board is delighted to welcome Craig as an independent director for NextDC. Craig is a strong leader with a great track record. He brings with him a wealth of experience, industry knowledge as well as extensive corporate governance experience that is critical to the success of NextDC,” NextDC chairman, Roger Clarke, said in statement. “Attracting a high calibre director like Craig reinforces NextDC’s commitment to the Australian market as the business enters into a phase of growth and expansion of its data centre portfolio.”
With Scroggie’s appointment as a non-executive director, the NextDC board will be made up of three independent non-executive directors and two executive directors.
Scroggie highlighted NextDC’s mission was to build an Australia-wide network of data centres that are both smart and green is extremely powerful.
“I look forward to making a significant contribution to the board of directors and the company’s overall success,” Scroggie said.
Scroggie has held senior leadership positions with Veritas Software, Computer Associates, EMC Corporation and Fujitsu.
