Dimension Data will roll out a $800,000 voice over IP (VoIP) project at Colonial First State (CFS). Since its acquisition of CFS in March, the Commonwealth Bank has signalled its intention to keep CFS's IT infrastructure separate, paving the way for Dimension Data to provide the funds manager with a converged data and voice network nationally. CFS downplayed potential savings garnered by a converged network. Tony Clasquin, general manager of IT at Colonial First State, said: "Where we are really seeing big savings and efficiency gains is in the ease of configuration, installation and administration in a converged voice and data system to greenfield sites."
