The product range uses VMware vSphere 4 to virtualise UC applications alongside enterprise business applications in a datacentre. Telstra has certified its SIP trunking connectivity with the full range of Mitel Virtual Solutions.
In June, Mitel recruited Brightstar as a distributor for its strong connection with Telstra.
The vendor has existing ties with Telstra Business Systems which it wants to strengthen.
The expanded relationship between Mitel and Telstra is kickstarted by an agreement with IMB Building Society which has chosen to deploy Virtual Mitel Communications Director (Virtual MCD).
“With support of VMware datacentre management tools, Mitel Virtual Solutions allow us to increase the resiliency of our business-critical communications solutions,” IMB Building Society IT infrastructure service manager, Alby Salido, said in a statement.
“The solution provided by Mitel and Telstra works in conjunction with our existing business continuity plan with the aim to reduce costs, consolidate maintenance and minimise complexity for all applications in our datacentre.”
According to Mitel Asia-Pacific vice-president, Gwilym Funnell, working with Telstra help the vendor continue offering communications solutions that can run on Mitel platforms, industry standard servers or in virtualised environments all connected through ISDN or SIP trunking.
“This gives customers an unprecedented choice of deployment options and the opportunity to retire their legacy PBX in favour of a pure software solution,” he said in a statement.”
