PrintSolv inks exclusive deal with end-user behaviour software vendor

The printing applications distributor expects the new product to contribute to 50 per cent of sales revenue in the near future

Print management software player, PrintSolv, has inked an exclusive distribution deal with US-based vendor, Print Control Software.

Print Control Software specialises in a ROI Print Manager, a software that allows end-users to create rule-based policies manage printing habits within an office.

This is an exclusive distribution deal for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Exclusivity lasts for five years with opportunities for renewal.

As a result, the distributor wants 20 resellers to take on ROI Print Manager within the next 12 months.

Having dealt with printing hardware management software, FM Audit, for three year, PrintSolv has been looking for complementary products for its portfolio.

“We did some research and looked at what is happening in the US – a mature managed print services (MPS) market – and the next phase for MPS is focused on end-user printing habits,” PrintSolv general manager, Andrew Tsiorvas, said. “So things like how many prints an end-user is making, whether they are printing to the most efficient printers in an office and so on.”

The distributor found Print Control Software at IT Expo in the US six months ago and has been trialling ROI Print Manager since then.

PrintSolv settled on ROI Print Manager due to its scalability and attractive pricepoint, according to Tsiorvas.

“We wanted a product with a pricepoint that is accessible to resellers and offers a strong margin,” he said. “We looked at some others but they were quite expensive and more suited to enterprise level customers.

“The product is more for the SMEs but can be rolled out to enterprise as well.”

PrintSolv is hoping ROI Print Manager will contribute to 50 per cent of sales revenue in the next 2-3 years.

“Our forecast is these kinds of products will be in big demand,” Tsiorvas said. “We are confident in the future the product will make up a big chunk of our business.”

The distributor currently has about 100 resellers.

PrintSolv signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Evolved Office in January and is still on the look out for more vendor partners.
