Citrix has substantially boosted its channel resources, appointing Andrew Susa in a newly created role as senior director, Asia-Pacific partner organistation.
His role will involve building strategic partnerships and developing the partner ecosystem across the region.
The appointment is made more interesting in that Susa was previously the global alliance director at VMware – a direct competitor to Citrix in the virtualisation space.
Susa said the move was a reflection of due to lifestyle change, in that he and his family had wanted to return to Australia, and were fortunate to meet people from Citrix who offered him the role.
"I wanted to stay involved in this space," Susa said. "Working for VMware was a fantastic role that lead to a global role, but the family decided we wanted to return to Australia."
Susa will report to Citrix vice president, Asia-Pacific, Rob Willis.
"Willis felt it was time for more leadership in the partner network in APAC," Susa said. "We have a great team now, but as we move forward will be looking to grow it further."
Susa said he would did not plan on doing anything dramatic to change Citrix' current channels strategy.
