Polycom targets Government with new staffer in Canberra

Reseller veteran joins vendor to boost sales to Government

Telepresence vendor, Polycom, has appointed a new senior sales engineer, Kevin Keane, to its Canberra office and claims it is enjoying a sustained period of expansion in the region.

According to a statement released by the vendor, Keane will support A/NZ vertical business manager, Lynette Whitfield, in improving Polycom’s sales in Canberra.

“With the re-election of the Labor Government and their pledge to start the rollout of the National Broadband Network, the future of mass video adoption becomes a reality,” Polycom managing director, Michael Chetner, said in a statement.

“Polycom has a large base of government customers and agencies and as more adopt video conferencing solutions to communicate, it makes sense for us to increase our presence in Canberra.”

The vendor said Keane brought 11 years of experience working in operation, technical and sales engineering roles at IT service provider, ServicePoint.

He also previously worked at the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) as its voice and video communications specialist.
