Communications software vendor hunts for partners

Platform46 is on the hunt for resellers and system integrators that specialise in providing ERP, CRM and SharePoint, to take its software to the market

Internal communications software vendor, Platform46, is on the hunt for resellers as it looks to expand its presence in the Australian market.

Platform46 CEO, Tim Ayling, said that even though it is a young company, it does have financial backing and is actively looking for partners.

Ayling describes the software offering as providing customers with their own internal version of Twitter. It can support third party software like TweetDeck.

Platform46 software is developed and hosted locally.

For example, within a CRM system, it can publish information like when an employee has made a sale, new customer opportunities and when a customer is having an issue.

“The idea is that whether you're in sales or finance, you can subscribe to the information,” Ayling said. “You can know who is making sales; find out how particular projects are progressing, deadlines and when people have completed particular points of the projects.”

Ayling said so far it has had success with resellers and system integrators that specialise in ERP, CRM and SharePoint. It currently has eight partners across A/NZ.

Partners that sign up to Platform46 can try the software for free and are being offered a ‘double your money’ incentive for their first three customers that sign up to the software, Ayling said.

“We think it’s much more valuable if the partners uses and understands the software,” he said. “We normally provide partners with 25 per cent margin, but it’s now 50 per cent for the first three customers.”

Partners will also get access to training and marketing tools.

“We really understand that partners are our future and down the track we’ll be hiring partner managers too,” he said.

The vendor is also looking to hire more technical staff to boost support.

“We have some aggressive plans to move into other markets as well by mid-next year, but we’re concentrating on Australia first,” Ayling said.
