Small business-focused HP-only distributor eXeed celebrated its first birthday this week showing promising growth in what has been a very tough year for the channel.
Managing director Michael Bosnar, a 10-year veteran of Prion and later Siltek, said the company, which now operates in five cities and two countries, generated about $8 million in revenues in its first 12 months.
"The SMB channel we focus on has been very kind to us," Bosnar said. "It is growing and is not just based on price. We now have 16 staff and I am looking to turn over more than $25 million in Australia and $NZ15 million in New Zealand in our second year."
Joint venture talks are currently with the intention of expanding eXeed's low overhead business model into Hong Kong and Singapore, Bosnar said.
The distributor has recently been bolstered by the executive appointments of former Prion and Volante Online staffer Rick Phelps as national sales manager and Keith Watson who formerly held a senior sales and marketing role with HP.
Bosnar said he now has a strong executive team in place which will drive growth in the future. He put the success of the company over the first year down to four factors.
"Firstly, we focus on just one vendor which allows us to develop exceptional product knowledge," He said. "Secondly, we also focus entirely on the SMB channel which no-one else does. Thirdly our systems are totally integrated with HP and lastly we have exceptional pre-sales technical support services."
