The vendor is an Australian company and its Visitor Management Appliances can integrate into existing networks and Internet connections to manage user access on corporate and public networks.
Wavelink was on the hunt for a guest access vendor to complement its wireless local area network (WLAN) solution and found amigopod was a good fit.
“The fact it was a local company was a good thing,” Wavelink managing director, Ilan Rubin, said. “The products are quite customisable and amigopod provides good support; everything we are looking for in a vendor.”
With the wireless market growing rapidly, Rubin said there is opportunity for resellers although he would not elaborate on expected sales revenue just yet. The distributor is bringing announcing a product to sit alongside amigo’s appliances next month.
This is not an exclusive partnership. amigopod’s other distribution is a division of Distribution Central.
“We provide end-to-end sales and technical support whereas most of the work being done by Distribution Central has been in fulfilment,” Rubin said.
Wavelink is planning to recruit more resellers to support the amigopod brand and will provide formal training courses.
