Touchbase Australia in administration

Touchbase Australia will trade as usual while financial position is investigated

Cisco partner, Touchbase Australia, has gone into administration.

Riad Tayeh and David Solomons, of accountants, De Vries Tayeh, were appointed as administrators on August 11, 2010.

In a letter, cited by ARN, the administrators said trading would continue as usual for the time being while they investigated the financial position of the company. Touchbase Australia was re-named as Emodite recently.

A source claimed that the company had amassed debts of more than $3 million to organisations including the ATO, Westcon, Verint, Nuance, Telstra, Avnet and other employees.

An ASIC company extract document additionally lists Avnet Pacific as a petitioner in court action against Emodite.

Meanwhile, Touchbase managing director, Magnus Maynard, registered Touchbase Asia Pacific on July 12.

Both the administrators and Magnus Maynard were unavailable to comment at time of press. Avnet managing director, Gavin Lawless, declined to provide additional information.

The integrator was a major Cisco partner and was the first in Australia to achieve Master Unified Communications status.
