Government seeking managed services panel

The Department of Finance and Deregulation is looking to set up a managed services panel comprising of system integrators and telco providers

The Department of Finance and Deregulation is looking to set up a Whole-of-Government diverse panel of system integrators and telecommunication providers with managed services capabilities.

In its telecommunications lifecycle management services (TLSM) request for tender (RFT), the Department has also specified it is also seeking niche specialists that can supply advisory or other types of capabilities. It involves all aspects of managed services including the underlying products.

Some of the strategic objectives the Department has set out to achieve as a result of this implementation includes reducing the costs and duplication of procurement processes, improving price transparency of telecommunications expenditure, and support competition and innovation in the telecommunications industry.

The project also aims to meet the flexible needs of individual agencies. The Department hasn’t set out a limit to the number of suppliers on the panel and supply a simplified procurement process for Government agencies.

It anticipates it will be able to achieve savings and efficiencies by reducing the number of tendering efforts.

The contract covers a three year period with two one-year extension options. The cut off date for enquiries is September 2.
