Krone collects $20 million tender

The Krone groups tendered successfully to manufacture modular outlets for an estimated $20 million over three years.

The outlets will replace Telstra's standard telephone outlets. Telstra was Krone's first customer when the company set up shop in Australia in 1980.

Krone modules are deployed extensively across the Telstra network, and the Krone LSA-Plus is Telstra's standard termination system. They are also the cabling standard for 2Mb and 8Mb in the inter-exchange network.

The new outlets expand Krone's Telstra product line to the demarcation point in homes and enables Telstra to meet the emerging worldwide adoption of RJ standards.
