Dimension Data has promoted Spencer Jose to state manager for its Western Australia office.
Describing himself as a salesman, Jose said he planned to change the integrator's strategy towards closer ties with vendor partners. He also wants to increase its focus on more potential mid-market customers.
"My main priority at the moment is re-focusing the sales team on both the enterprise and commercial markets," he said. "The 200-800 seat commercial market is the majority of organisations in Perth."
Product areas of strong sales potential in the state were IP telephony, enterprise solutions using Sun servers and Microsoft upgrades across server and desktop systems, he said.
Enterprise sectors to be targeted include the lucrative WA mining business, where Dimension Data hopes to increase its work with companies such as Woodside.
Jose has been with the company for two and a half years, starting as a business development manager before moving up to his last role as services manager for the branch. He will replace Rory Innes, who is moving overseas.
Dimension Data will be boosting its WA staff numbers with the addition of a new technical services manager to fill Jose's old role. Two additional roles for solutions sales and senior account management have also been created.
"I see no reason why the business can't grow to twice its size," Jose said.
