Telcoinabox has opened its Australia and New Zealand Operations Centre (ANZOC).
The company specialises in reselling telco services such as fixed voice, mobile, VoIP and broadband to small service providers. It is a wholesale customer of Telstra.
Located in Sydney, the facility combines Telcoinabox’s operations of the two countries. A number of functions including customer service, technical support, operations, billing, finance and training have been consolidated into the one location. Business development, product and account management functions remain with the country offices in Sydney and Wellington, New Zealand.
There is currently 60 staff at the operations centre and the company will continue recruiting to fill out the office.
ANZOC is been used by Telcoinabox as a model to launch other similar operation centres abroad with the European operations centre, located in the UK, to be opened soon.
The telco wholesaler currently has 150 reseller and franchise customers across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. But its grand plan is to boost that figure to 10,000.
“The number is our long term vision and our big audacious goal,” Telcoinabox CEO, Paul Line, said. “Really, we’d love to enable 10,000 people to set up and run their own business and create 10,000 entrepreneurs successful worldwide, be that whatever market that is in.”
Telcoinabox founder and managing director, Damien Kay, thinks the key to achieving this goal is through targeting niche players.
“All of our guys – They are not after the mass market,” he said. “These guys are niche players and they are the local hero; whether it is the geographical or whether it is in silos, such as pubs and clubs and industry based.”
According to Kay, his company has experienced 30 per cent growth year-on-year. The company was founded in 2002.
Telcoinabox has also hired former Mortgage Choice senior executive, Debbie Ennis as the new head of franchising and business development.
