Impact Systems has released the new CT-722A, a 17-inch monitor that is designed to make a significant impact on the LCD market. Its specs include a 16ms (millisecond) pixel response time, which Impact Systems claims is one of the fastest on the market. With a brightness of 400-cdm and a contrast ratio of 450:1, it delivers a crisp image. Stereo speakers are mounted on the bezel and it features a wide viewing angle of 170 degrees and anti-glare screen. ADO Electronic Industrial Australia has announced the arrival of the newest addition to the Vibrant LCD family, the 15-inch VL5A9PD. The VL5A9PD has its own unique landscape design. Standard features include a silver/black bezel, height adjustable stand, two multimedia speakers, wall mountable capabilities, line in and headphone jacks. For the security conscious it also comes standard with a Kensington lock. The most attractive feature is the panel. Boasting a 16ms response time, 400:1 contrast ratio and brightness of 250cd/m2 the VL5A9PD was designed to easily handle the latest in today’s games and DVD technology. Philips’ entry-level 15-inch LCD monitor, the 150S, features a slim 17mm frame, an embedded universal AC power supply, and automatic adjustment of the monitor’s settings for the optimum picture quality. It offers an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, 250 cd/m2 brightness and 400:1 contrast. With 150 degree horizontal and 110 degree vertical viewing angles, the 150S offers a wide viewing area. It has a response time of 30 milliseconds which is a little on the slow side but understandable for the price. It uses 18 watts of power under normal operation and less than 1W in sleep mode. LG LG’s latest 15-inch LCD monitor, LG 1510S, offers 1024 x 768 pixel resolution at 75Hz, a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 300:1. It features a wide viewing angle of 90 degrees (horizontal) by 120 degrees (vertical), Vesa mounting capabilities, a separate RGB Analog video signal and a 15 Pin-D sub input connector.
