WatchGuard serves up Bali holidays for channel partners

Security vendor has had a good year and is offering up all expenses paid getaways as sales incentives for its channel.

There are 14 holiday packages on offer all Australian and New Zealand channel partners are eligible for the program. Winners will be determined by sales and the results will be announced in October.

“This is a sales incentive for our partners and resellers to earn themselves to an exotic getaway in October,” WatchGuard regional director, Scott Robertson, said. “This is measured on sales from July of 2009 thru to September of 2010, and we have categories for both the north and south regions.

He said the program was motivated by better than expected growth in the Australian and New Zealand region as well as to reward partners post global financial crisis.

“We’re very pleased to have weathered the storm favourably and we are very thankful to our loyal partners who have contributed to our success,” he said.

The holiday packages will be awarded to different categories within the Northern region which includes ACT, NSW, Northern Territory, New Zealand and Queensland, and the Southern region which counts Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

WatchGuard has also brought in the Security Pays program. Slated to be launched next month, channel sales people with a vendor issued credit card can receive cash credit for their WatchGuard sales. The program is exclusive to the vendor’s Secure Partners.

“It’s a quick and easy reward program for people looking to promote WatchGuard products,” Robertson said. “I think for most channel sales people, they like to see a quick return and so once each sale is registered, sales people can get credited for those sales against their credit cards.”

With increasing success in the enterprise sector, WatchGuard is looking for more partners to service that market segment.

“We’ve seen partners revenues doubled in the last year so we’re seeing more and more of our business goes through our partners,” Robertson said. “We are going very heavily in the enterprise so we are certainly looking for partners that play in those larger organisations to join our channel.”
