Samsung has outsold rival monitor manufacturer LG for the first time this year, as June saw the major brands continue to win market share over smaller manufacturers.
The latest Inform statistics saw Samsung ship 21 per cent of all monitors sold in June, up from 18 per cent in the previous month, with LG rising 1 per cent to a 20 per cent market share. Philips shipped 19 per cent of unit sales to come a close third.
Overall, unit sales are doing well, up 9 per cent on a record-breaking May, which is around 30 per cent higher than first-quarter sales.
Inform analyst Claire Taverner noted that brand-name manufacturers continue to steal market share from non-branded monitors.
