iPhone sprouts pregnancy app for women downunder

Developed by Australian trained doctors and obstetricians at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

Med Art Studios has released an Australian version of its Pregnancy Essential iPhone app, Sprout.

The app shows week-by-week specific medical information about a developing baby based on the guidelines from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOGS).

It was developed by Australian trained doctors and obstetricians at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, according to a statement.

Sprout features realistic foetal imagery and information about foetal development, a personalised due date timeline as well as 3D interactive foetal models.

Additional tools include a doctor visit planner, contraction timer and kick monitor.

The app is available on the Apple App Store for $US9.99 and can be used on an iPhone or iPod Touch.
