Jabra has upgraded its partnership with VExpress in a bid to go after the telephony and UC market.
A long-standing partner of Jabra, VExpress was previously a reseller. The vendor has decided to upgrade it to a distributor, to sit alongside Westcon Group and 24/7 at that tier.
The vendor’s newly-appointed regional marketing and alliances manager, Harold Melnick, said the three distributors would work in a complementary manner.
Westcon Group services a traditional integrator market, while 24/7 targets traditional telephony partners.
“VExpress has a strong presence in the UC space, and we have a lot of UC compatible products,” Melnick said.
“It’s still in the early days of the partnership, but we’d like to help VExpress target reseller partners. We think the UC market will continue to grow – it’s still in the early stage of the technology cycle, but it’s picking up quickly.”
Melnick said the appointment was not made to replace Cellnet, who Jabra parted ways with in November last year. The vendor enjoyed double digit growth in the region for the year, and it was more to do with recognising the value VExpress brings to the vendor, Melnick said.
