Former Oracle employee to sue for sexual discrimination

Enterprise software company and one of its consulting sales manager has been taken to court by former employee, Rebecca Richardson.

A former employee of enterprise software company, Oracle, is suing the company and a former colleague over alleged sexual discrimination.

In early June, Rebecca Richardson filed her first statement of claim in the Federal Court in Sydney alleging unlawful discrimination by Oracle and a consulting sales manager, Randol Tucker.

The first directions hearing was held on July 2 in front of Justice Robert Buchanan. A further directions hearing was set for October 15.

According to Richardson’s LinkedIn profile, she started with Oracle in 1998 as a product manager and moved through the ranks to an Asia-Pacific consulting program manager position. She left the company in 2009 and is now working for storage vendor, EMC.

Tucker, a consulting sales manager, has been with Oracle since 2007.
