Cisco and Ingram Micro have launched Asia’s first Cisco Center for Unified Computing.
Based in Singapore, the centre will provide Ingram Micro customers and channel partners with a datacentre platform that also features technology from APC, CA, Hitachi Data Systems, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, Symantec, VMware and other partners.
The centre will act as a test bed for Cisco partners to simulate real-life scenarios in a heterogeneous hardware and software application environment.
It provides a risk-free environment for partners to share and address their customer’s datacentre requirements and challenges.
Cisco’s investment with Ingram Micro includes training and additional staff to manager the centre.
Globally, more than 900 customers have adopted Cisco’s Unified Computing System (UCS) platform.
Ingram Micro Australia was contacted, but could not comment at time of publication on local ramifications for the announcement.
