IT services provider, Capgemini, has signed on two senior executives to boost its Australian telecommunications business.

According to a statement from the outsourcer, the new vice-president of telecommunications, Christophe Bur, has spent three years with Telstra, where he was executive director of strategy, planning and operations for product management.

Bur has also worked with Optus and its parent company, Singtel, for more than 10 years in network operation, product development and strategy-planning roles.

Capgemini’s director of client partnerships, Laurent Bye, has been promoted internally to the role. He previously launched and lead the company’s Middle East and African telco business. Bye will answer to Bur in his new role.

The latest executive hires come as the company boosts its Australian business with company acquisitions, and senior leadership appointments.

It recently launched a new cloud services unit and won a major business process outsourcing deal with BlueScope Steel.
