Welcome to Penalty Box, ARN's daily World Cup 2010 wrap.
- LATEST SCORES: Group A
- Simms International (Greece) 0 Samsung (Korea Republic) 2
- Evolve IT (Argentina) 1 Websense (Nigeria) 0
- Ingram Micro (England)1 NSC Group (USA)1
Well, we have to say we tipped it: Mighty Ingram Micro being held to a draw by NSC Group. There will be much soul-searching in the Ingram Micro camp before its next game. Let's face it: If they can't beat NSC then they will struggle to beat some of the tournament favourites in the later rounds. And what about Samsung! Simms cracked and will now struggle to qualify for the next round. Evolve IT did what it had to but wasn't overly impressive in its win over a game Websense.
NEXT GAMES June 13/14 (AEST)
Group C:Moneytech (Slovenia) vs Alliance Equipment Finance Pty Limited (Algeria)
Group D: Devnet (Serbia) vs Leading Edge Group (Ghana); Triforce (Germany) vs itX (Australia)
The big one here is, of course, Triforce vs itX - Triforce are one of the big guns and itX are out to bring them down. We think itX are good enough to shock Triforce and grab a point. Devnet and Leading Edge Group is tough to call as both teams are missing key players. Perhaps a rather defensive draw. Finally, Moneytech and Alliance Equipment Finance .... mmm, let's go for the upset and Alliance to get up.
