IT search provider, Splunk, has appointed Remora Technologies as its first Premium partner in Australia.
In a statement, Remora CEO, Robert Silver, said the partnership provided opportunities within its software engineering organisation to work with applications-oriented technology. Remora will focus on three key areas: Application management; infrastructure and operations management; and security and compliance.
“We’re building out a team of qualified engineers and architects to support growing customer demand for this product in Australia,” Silver said.
The reseller plans to devote research and development resources to help create new applications and add-ons, specifically in the area of application and database management. These are to be made available through Splunkbase, a site featuring free community and Splunk created applications and add-ons.
Splunk recently hired Daniel Miller as its regional manager and Brett Matthews as its technical lead. Both are previously from Sun Microsystems. Miller said it was essential to leverage skilled partners.
"Remora is a very good fit for Splunk as it has always taken a consultative approach to customer relationships and never tried to fit a pre-defined solution to a problem,” Miller said. “With software as versatile as Splunk, the organisation can leverage its software development heritage to help solve a variety of customer problems."
