NetApp fills channel manager gap

Former Sun employee, Todd Parsons, brought on-board following Scott Morris' regional promotion

NetApp has recruited former Sun Microsystems staffer, Todd Parsons, to head up its channel sales and marketing team.

Parsons was with Sun for six years in a number of positions including volume systems and storage sales director and commercial business manager. He comes to NetApp following a restructuring within the vendor and the promotion of Scott Morris to a regional role based in Singapore.

The vendor’s restructure saw the commercial sales team split from the channel sales business. NetApp area vice-president for South East Asia-Pacific, Peter O’Connor, said the move was aimed at improving focus across its partner ranks.

“Having the commercial sales team in there was proving to be a distraction,” O’Connor said. “This next 12 months, we want to drive a wealth of skill into our channel community.”

Parsons was appointed following a highly competitive process, O’Conner claimed.

“I am excited by the company’s market position and the fact it is such a strong contender across various segments. I am energised by the company’s direction, values and commitment to an outstanding customer experience,” Parsons said in a statement.
