Stuart Hughes launches his latest creation - the diamond encrusted platinum iPad

UK elite gadget designer, Stuart Hughes, has taken the iPad a step further and introduced the solid platinum iPad Supreme Edition.

The latest unit is double price of his solid gold design, costing $520,000.

Why is the price so high for this pretty piece of tech? Well that’s because it’s encrusted with 85.5 carats of ‘I'F' flawless diamonds – a total amount of 173 individually set sparkling gems sit on the skilfully crafted solid platinum rear section.

So what does this solid platinum and diamonds weigh? 2.7kg. And like its gold counterpart, it’s the Wi-Fi and 3G, 64Gb iPad version.

It is also a limited edition with only five of these units to be made.
