Juniper will launch an online partner training program in July.
Over the next few months, the networking vendor will elaborate on this new online channel initiative at its partner conferences around the world.
The Juniper Networks Learning Academy will involve sales and technical curriculum with lessons available in a variety of multimedia formats.
The online centre works in conjunction with the vendor’s partner certification program.
It will be launched after the Australian Juniper Partner Conference in July.
Completing courses through the training academy is an ongoing requirement for partners wanting to remain certified with Juniper.
“What we are trying to do is address the ongoing educational needs of partners and align the training delivered to functions within our partners’ organisational structure,” Juniper partner sales director, Robert Finn, said. “We want to move away from just sales and presales product certification training.”
Learning Academy training is broken down into six categories: solutions, service, product, technical, sales skills and industry fundamentals.
Lessons should take up five-and-a-half days per year for Juniper Select partners and 10 days a year for the vendor’s highest ranked Elite partners. Testing is conducted online.
“We’ve done a lot of face-to-face training so now it’s about understanding Juniper’s vision and fundamentals in their own time and offering more than just sales training,” he said.
Juniper will also launch its online Global Marketing Resources Centre which is due out later this year.
