System integrator, CSC, has appointed Michael Horton as vice-president of its natural resources, manufacturing, technology and consumer sector.
Horton will be responsible for continuing CSC’s solid growth trajectory in the natural resources sector as well as building on the company’s stronghold in manufacturing.
Based in Western Australia, Horton will report to CSC president, Gavin Larkings.
Horton has spent 16 years at CSC and was previously the general manager for WA.
“As a result of his leadership and tenacity, CSC in WA now holds contracts with 14 different clients, in the public sector and chemical, energy and natural resources verticals, commanding double the market share of any other IT services provider in the region,” Larkings said.
“With Mike’s in-depth knowledge of the natural resources sector and his 16 years of experience at CSC our clients will benefit from his leadership and trusted views on industry trends and challenges.”
Horton has more than 30 years experience in the technology sector. He has held senior management positions in WA, Victoria and New South Wales, and also has extensive international experience in Singapore, Malaysia, UK and the US.
CSC list of customers includes BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Woodside Petroleum, and Newmont Mining.
