BlackBerry extends Brightpoint distribution deal

Mobile handset and accessories distributor will have access to latest BlackBerry models, BlackBerry Enterprise Server and user licenses.

Mobile handset and accessories distributor, Brightpoint Australia, has extended its agreement with BlackBerry to include the latest smartphones, software and user licenses.

The expanded range covers the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Curve 8520 as well as accessories. The distributor will also take on BlackBerry Enterprise Server and user licenses.

In a statement, Brightpoint managing director, John van Rensburg, said expanding the range of BlackBerry products was in line with its global master distribution agreement.

“By leveraging our depth and relationships across the wireless industry and mass market retail channels, Brightpoint offers Research In Motion (RIM) a one-stop distribution and logistics solution across Australia,” van Rensburg said.

RIM managing director, Adele Beachley, said the expansion of its distribution agreement was a reflection of the vendor’s growth in the market.

“We look forward to working with Brightpoint to provide even greater access to BlackBerry smartphones, and software for carriers, retailers and businesses,” she said.
