Comsol

The Comsol LCD KVM switch saves up to one-third of your rack space by integrating a keyboard, mouse, 15-inch TFT LCD panel and eight-port KVM switch, all in a 1U rack drawer. Designed for server racks where space is a premium, the LCD KVM switch is ideal for network managers who want to increase their server management capacity. It supports DOS, Win3.x/95/98/NT/XP, Netware, Linux, SCO Unix and OS/2.

It retails for $4853.20 (inc GST) and is distributed by Comsol.

Netgear

The FSM726S is the first in a family of managed switches that allows SMEs to remotely monitor and control a network using a simple, Web-based graphical user interface (GUI). The switch is equipped with 24 10/100Mbps ports, two 10/100/1000Mbps ports, 2Gb interface converter (GBIC) slots, two stacking connectors and an RS-232 console port.

It retails for $2,849 (inc GST) and is distributed by BMS, Express Data, J. Mills Distribution, Tecksel and Tech Pacific.

IMC Networks

ipMux from IMC Networks is an Internet access multiplexer with bandwidth control. It is available as a five-port 10/100TX or one 100BAseFX, four-port 10/100TX managed switch module for installation in either a one-slot or 13-slot chassis. Its unique management features allow bandwidth management and secure forwarding of a range of IP addresses similar to a VLAN or router, making it ideal for sub-netting an enterprise network or data/Web hosting centre.

The list price of the TX5 including chassis is $3,336. It is distributed by Digital Networks Australia.

Avaya

The P330 series, including the P332G-ML, P332GT-ML, P334T-ML, P334T and P333T/P333R, is targeted at the mid-market. The P330 Ethernet stackable switch solution features modular functionality, high port density, carrier-class reliability and building-block simplicity. The P330 family offers Layer 2, 3 and 4 workgroup switches that allow the building of small, medium or large workgroups as well as the expansion of one to the other.

The P330 series retails from $4,805 and is distributed by Ingram Micro.

Belkin Components

Belkin's eight-port network switch is designed for dial-up Internet connections to provide a backbone for small businesses sharing e-mail, printers, files and other devices, as well as providing dedicated bandwidth to each computer in the network for error-free data transmission. The switch works with PCs and Macs at a speed of 10/100Base-Tx Ethernet. The vertical design saves on desk space and offers a built-in cable management and docking ring for daisy-chain fitting or add-on networking products.

It retails for $199.95 and is distributed by Ingram Micro.
