Storage provider expands into Australian market

Former Hitachi Data Systems channel director, Steve Kelly, becomes 3PAR regional head.

Utility storage provider, 3PAR, has opened its first sales office in Australia and New Zealand. Former Hitachi Data Systems channel director, Steve Kelly, has been appointed as its regional manager across A/NZ.

The move is part of an ongoing expansion within the Asia-Pacific region and was driven by the requirements of global customers as well as local customers, the company said in a statement.

“Australia and New Zealand are vibrant markets that have not only escaped the worst of the global financial crisis, but have long been early adopters of disruptive new technology,” Kelly said in the statement. “3PAR offers utility storage systems that help customers consolidate their datacentres and introduce virtualisation, cloud computing, and storage tiering into their environments.”

Kelly’s resume boasts 20 years of experience in sales and management roles with companies such as IBM/Tivoli, F5 Networks and BEA Systems.

“With his strong background in sales and in developing reseller channels, Steve is well positioned to help bring the efficiency, agility, and green benefits of 3PAR to enterprise, service provider and government customers in Australia and New Zealand,” CEO, David Scott, said in the statement.
