New suburbs gain access to TransACT network

FTTP rollout to be made available to two new estates - Forde North and Springbank Rise.

TransACT is expanding its FTTP rollout across ACT and NSW.

It will extend FTTP services to additional homes in the new estates of Forde North and Springbank Rise. This will increase the number of residents who are able to access TransACT’s high-speed FTTP services to almost 11,000 across the ACT.

It provides similar services to the Greenfield suburbs of Forde, Franklin, Bonner, Crace and the Flemington Road corridor.

TransACT is also in the process of working with Corning Cable Systems to installed its first ‘fibre-only’ medium density units in Forde – which consists of Alcatel Lucent high-speed optical network terminals that are capable of providing up to 1Gbps bandwidth to connect premises.

“TransACT is going from strength-to-strength in the roll-out of FTTP services across the ACT and NSW,” TransACT CEO, Ivan Slavich, said. “TransACT is continuing to look at opportunities to deploy FTTP technology in both greenfield and brownfield suburbs.”
