Perth-based software company HarvestRoad has announced a partnership with US-based Blackboard to integrate its content-management system into Blackboard's enterprise-level educational platform.
Harvest Road has joined the Blackboard Building Blocks program by integrating its Learning Contents Management System with Blackboard's e-education platform to allow institutions to collect, publish, manage and share educational material across multiple courses.
The partnership with Blackboard was helped along by a research and development START grant from the Federal Government.
Harvest Road will also make sure content developed by third-party developers can be accessed from Blackboard via metadata standards such as IMS, SCORM, AGLS, edNA, and Intelink.
"Harvest Road recognises one of the most significant challenges facing educational curriculum management is the efficient and economic handling of standards-based learning objects, which becomes increasingly difficult as learning organisations scale to meet demand," said Stephen Gilfus, senior director of product strategy and management at Blackboard.
