Infor signs first Australian OEM deal

Longtime partner, Eclipse, given OEM rights to nine products

US-headquartered business software vendor, Infor, has signed its first original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement with longstanding reseller, Eclipse Computing.

Following several months of discussions Infor agreed to allow Eclipse to become an OEM for nine products ranging from human capital management tools to financial accounting software.

“We have a great track record in the marketing our solutions and products from other vendors to a number of markets,” Eclipse business development director, Martin Wildsmith, said.

According to Infor, Eclipse will apply its business ideas and intelligence on top of the vendor’s technology.

“We're taking the tools from software vendors such as Infor and building templates to kind of pre-package them,” Wildsmith said. “It’s about getting the intellectual property [IP] and having the expertise.”

The vendor said it is very selective in signing OEM contracts and will spend some time digesting its bolstered partnership with Eclipse before considering another reseller for OEM.

Eclipse opened in 1986 and operates in more than 70 countries.
