Thieves caught after trying to steal computers

Two men broke into a Hornsby business and were spotted by off-duty police

Thieves were caught by two off-duty police officers on Sunday March 14 after stealing computers from a business in Hornsby.

Two men will face a Sydney court after gaining access to a business on Edgeworth David Avenue by throwing a storm water grate through the front pane glass window at about 5.15pm.

The pair stole laptop computers and cables before attempting to flee the scene.

However, they were spotted by an off-duty NSW policewoman and a Federal Agent who gave chase. Both men, aged 30 and 35, were arrested a short time later and taken to Hornsby Police Station.

They were subsequently charged with break, enter and steal and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
